a. Rapid combustion - A combustion which takes place quickly and continuously, producing a large amount of heat and light is known as a rapid combustion. Gaseous fuels like LPG undergo a rapid combustion.
b. Spontaneous combustion - The combustion in which the combustible substance bursts into flames without any external ignition or any other apparent cause is called as a spontaneous combustion. Burning of sodium in air is an example of spontaneous combustion.
c. Explosion - A sudden reaction which takes place with the liberation of a large amount of heat, light, and sound is called an explosion. A large amount of gas is also liberated during an explosion. Cracking of a firecracker is an example of an explosion.
