The contents of Receipt is given below:
(i) Name, address and other details of the payee i.e. the person receiving the payment.
(ii) Receipt serial number.
(iii) Date of issue of receipt.
(iv) Name of the business or person from whom the amount is received.
(v) Reason for payment such as subscription donation, fees, etc.
(vi) the amount in figure as well as in words.
(vii) Mode of payment, e.g. by cash/cheque/Draft No. ________dated______ drawn on_____ Bank, etc.
(viii) Signature of person receiving the amount.
(ix) Revenue Stamp of Rs.1/- is affixed if payment is of Rs. 5,000/- or more. Receiver of amount is required to make signature on the stamp.
