Reaction with nitrous acid
Only 1 amines will liberate nitrogen gas on treatment with nitrous acid other amine not able to liberate nitrogen with HNO2. Hence only (i) propanamine and (ii) Propan-2-amine, will liberate nitrogen gas on treatment with nitrous acid.
