Alkenes react with
H2O/H+ to give alcohols. The product is formed according to Markovnikov’s rule. This is known as hydration of alkenes.
When propene reacts with
H2O/H+ (hydration reaction) then the product formed is- Propan-

NaBH4 is a reducing agent.
NaBH4 is less reactive than
LiAlH4 but is otherwise similar.
It is only powerful enough to
reduce aldehydes, ketones and acid chlorides to alcohols. Esters, amides, acids and nitriles does not get reduced by it.
