  • The molecule of a compound is made up of two parts. Each part is called a radical.
  • Radical either may be positive or negative.
  • The symbol of the chloride radical is ( Cl-), oxide is ( O2-), carbonate is ( CO3-), sulphate is ( SO42-) and nitrate is ( NO3-).
