The reaction where a base is nullified by the action of an acid and the acid is nullified by the action of the base , leading to formation of salt and water are called Neutralisation reactions.

For e.g. NaOH + HCl → NaCl + H2O

Mg(OH)2 + H2SO4 →MgSO4 + 2H2O
