Solution

(a) Submerged leaves being narrow and ribbon-shaped can bend in flowing water in order to tolerate water currents. E.g, Tape grass.

(b) Floating leaves are long, light and hollow (presence of air in between the cells). The leaves also have an oily coat on the top that helps them to float on the surface of water. E.g, Lotus.
