Atomicity is the number of atoms present in one molecule.
Generally, all the metals have one atomicity. Hence metals are monoatomic. For example, sodium, magnesium , and iron are monoatomic.
The atomicity of non-metals varies from diatomic to polyatomic. But there is an exception of Nobel gases which are non-metals but monoatomic in nature.
For example, the molecule of oxygen is a diatomic, molecule of nitrogen is triatomic.
