Solution
The reaction occurs at cathode of the cell is O2(g)+2H2O(l)+4e−→4OH−(aq). Oxygen is reduced to hydroxide ions. The reaction occurs at anode of the cell is 2H2(g)+4OH−(aq)→4H2O(l)+4e−. Hydrogen gas is oxidised to water.
