H3PO3 is orthophosphorous acid. It is more clearly described with the structural formula HPO(OH)2. This acid is diprotic, i.e., it readily ionizes two protons.It is an unstable compound that readily absorbs moisture, it is converted to phosphoric acid (H3PO4) in the presence of oxygen or when heated above 1800C (360 F).
