  • Carbon disulphide is a covalent compound which is basically a colourless volatile liquid having molecular formula CS2.
  • It is also known as carbon bisulfide or disulfide carbon and is most often recognized as a solvent for bromine, fats, rubber, iodine and resins.
  • It is a neurotoxic liquid which is composed of carbon and sulphur having a molecular weight equal to 76.13 g/mol [12+(2*32.065)].

Thus, the chemical formula and molecular weight of carbon disulphide is CS2 (76.13 g/mol).
