Common name of CaSO4. 2H2O is gypsum. The main uses of gypsum are in wall boards for homes and other buildings. It is also used to make plaster of Paris and cement. NaHCO3 is commonly known as baking powder On heating Baking soda produces water vapors and carbon dioxide gas, which come out from the food with high pressure and make the food crispy. 2. Sodium hydrogen carbonate or backing soda is basic in nature so it can be used as antacid to neutralize excess of acid in human stomach. Regards
