We can see the given graph that point A is at a distance of 3 units from the yaxis and at a distance zero units from the xaxis.
Therefore, the xcoordinate of A is 3 and ycoordinate is 0.
Hence, the coordinates of A are (3,0).
Similarly,
  • The coordinates of B are (2,0).
  • The coordinates of C are (1,0).
  • The coordinates of D are (2.5,0).
  • The coordinates of E are (4,0).

So, as observed in figure, every point on the xaxis has 0 distance from the xaxis.
Therefore, the coordinate of a point lying on xaxis is always zero and the xaxis is denoted by the equation y=0.
