Write the decimal 0.035 as fraction or mixed numbers?

Step 1:Given number can be written as numerator.Put 1 in denominator right below the given decimal point .

It has to be followed by zeros.Number of zeros depends on numbers after the decimal point.

Given decimal 0.035,has three numbers after the decimal.

so, we place 1000 in the denominator and remove the decimal point.

This will make it 351000

Step 2: Then, this fraction 351000 can be simplified as follows,

Prime factorisation of 35=5×7

Prime factorisation of 1000=2×2×2×5×5×5

To find the Greatest Common Factor, multiply all the prime factors common to both numbers.Here Greatest common factor is 5

Divide both the numerator and denominator by 5
35÷51000÷5=7200

Thus, 0.035 as a fraction is written as 7200.
