1. Clean dry and closed storage:

a) The grains to be stored are fully dried and free from moisture in a clean environment.

b) It should also be in a place safe from animals like rodents, birds, etc

2. Treatment of grain with insecticide:

a) Fumigation is a treatment that rids stored grain of insects by means of poisonous gas called fumigant.

b) Two different types of fumigants used are Methyl bromide and Aluminum phosphide.
