The different oxidation states of manganese (Mn) are +2, +3, +4, +5, +6 and +7. Manganese with $3d^5,4s^2$ as the outer electronic configuration, shows oxidation states ranging from $+2\left(3d^5\right)$ to $+7\left(3d^0\right)$. The +2 oxidation state is very stable due to exactly half-filled 3d-orbital of higher stability.
