Question

Write the electronic distribution in various shells for an element with atomic number 19 according to Bohr-Bury scheme.

Open in App
Solution

Atomic number is 19 which is actually Potassium (K),

so electronic configuration according to Bohr-Bury scheme of Potassium will be-

K19 =2,K 8L, 8M, 1N

K = Maximum 2 electrons

L = Maximum 8 electrons

M = Maximum 18 electrons (but first 8 electrons are filled and after that 2 electrons are filled in N shell to satisfy Octate rule, after filling 2 electrons in N shell, again electrons will be filled in M shell till it reaches 18).
