Write the expression for Lorentz magnetic force on a particle of charge q moving with velocity v in a magnetic field B. Shown that two no work is done by this force on the charged particle.

Lorentz force = magnetic force + electric force
F = [ qvb sinθ + qe ]
F=q(V×B)

(1) F is perpendicular to both V and B.

if ds is the instantaneous displacement of the change

ds is also perpendicular to F

W=F.ds

= Fs cos900

but cos900 = 0
W = 0
Hence increase in kinetic energy is zero
