G $_{1}$ phase is the first sub-stage of the interphase in which the cell prepares the RNA and proteins required for the S-phase or the replication of the DNA. So, the growth of the nucleus is not much and the organelles are also less in number. In G $_{2}$ phase, the nucleus is grown because the DNA replication has occurred and the cell is committed to undergo the division. The proteins required for the division are synthesized in this phase.
