G1 phase is the first sub-stage of the interphase in which the cell prepares the RNA and proteins required for the S-phase or the replication of the DNA. So, the growth of the nucleus is not much and the organelles are also less in number. In G2 phase, the nucleus is grown because the DNA replication has occurred and the cell is committed to undergo the division. The proteins required for the division are synthesized in this phase.
