Write the following decimals as fractions in their lowest terms :

Here we have to represent 5.6 as a fraction in the lowest form.

Step 1

Separate Integer and decimal parts

5.6=5+6 tenth

Step 2

Convert decimal part into a fraction

6 tenth = 610 = 35( convert in the lowest form here only to reduce further calculation)

Step 3

Add integer and lowest form of fractional value of decimal part

5+35=25+35=285 ( Taking LCM to add )

Hence, the fractional value of 5.6 is 285 and it is already in its lowest form as further simplification is not possible.

Note: Whenever it seems possible to reduce a fractional value into the lowest form then we should do to reduce the further calculation.
