Step: Placing the commas, according​to Indian system​

In the Indian system, counting from the right-hand side towards the left-hand side, a comma is placed after:

(1) One’s period = First three digits (629) i.e., hundreds, tens and ones. ​

​(2) Thousand’s period = next two digits (35) i.e., ten thousand and thousands. ​

​(3) Lakh's period = next two digits (8) i.e., ten lakhs and lakhs.

While reading a numeral, all the digits in the same period are read together and the name of the period 9except ones) is read along with it.

Therefore, according to the indian system 835629 can be written with the commas as 8,35,629.
