Write the following statement in mathematical form using literals, numbers and the signs of basic operations:

"Three times a number x is equal to 12 less than twice the number y."

Writing in mathematical form:

Three times a number x=3x

Two times a number y=2y

Given , Three times a number x = Two times the number y -12

3x=2y-12

Hence, the required mathematical form is 3x=2y-12.
