1.Salt:

It comprises of an anion and a cation. Any salt is formed from an acid or a base. The ions in salt are held together by electrostatic forces between the charged particles. The cation and anions in a particular salt are contributions from the individual acid and base fromn which it is obtained.

2.Example of a salt of strong acid and strong base:

(a) The salt of a strong acid and a strong base is Sodium chloride (NaCl). It is the salt Hydrochloric acid (HCl) and Sodium hydroxide (NaOH).

3.Example of a salt of weak acid and strong base:

(b) The salt of a strong base and a weak acid is Sodium acetate CH3COONa. It is the salt of Acetic acid CH3COOH and Sodium hydroxide (NaOH).
