To find the fraction of a given figure (the coloured parts), represents as follow:
(i) Count the number of equal parts in which the figure is divided.
(ii) Count the number of shaded parts.
(iii) The fraction the shaded part represents =
Number of equal parts shadedTotal number of parts in which the figure is equally divided
∴The fractions shown in the diagrams are 412, 39, 26, 13, 615 respectively.

Now, 412=13, 39=13, 26=13 615=25.
⇒ All of these fractions are not equivalent. (∵615≠13, all the other fractions are equal to 13)
