(ii) Collenchyma Functions:
(a) It provides mechanical support and elasticity.
(b) It provides tensile strength to the plants.
(iii) Sclerenchyma Functions:
(a) It is mainly mechanical and protective in function.
(b) It gives strength, rigidity, flexibility and elasticity to the plant body.
