  • Some parts of the human digestive system are:

1. Teeth

  • These are bony structures present in the oral cavity. Their number varies in people depending upon their age.
  • They perform the function of mechanical digestion by breaking down large food particles into small ones.
  • They help in chewing, cutting, and biting.

2. Stomach

  • It is a large J-shaped organ located below the chest.
  • The stomach's main functions include storing and mixing food with the digestive enzymes and regulating the movement of partially digested food into the small intestine.

3. Small intestine

  • It is a long tube in the abdomen that helps in complete food digestion.
  • It also performs the function of nutrient absorption released from food digestion.
