(i) Transmitter : A transmitter converts the message signal from the source of information into a form suitable for transmission through a channel by modulating it.

(ii) Modulator : A modulator is a device which changes some characteristics like amplitude/frequency/phase angle of a high frequency carrier wave in accordance with the instantaneous value of the low frequency message signal through the appropriate superposition to make it easier to transmit.
