Sickle cell anemia is an autosomal disorder. In this, the size of the red blood cell turned into a sickle shape and thus the amount of oxygen creates a problem in breathing as sickle-shaped RBC cannot store a sufficient amount of oxygen. For an offspring suffering from sickle cell anemia, the parent must be carrier of the disease as shown in the above cross along with the genotype.
