Solution

Write algebraic expression of given statement and identify whether it is a monomial, binomial or trinomial.

An expression that contains only single term is known as monomial.

An expression that consist of two terms is known as binomial.

An expression that contains three terms is known as trinomial.

The area of triangle with base munits and height nunits is,

Area=12×base×height=12×m×n=mn2squareunits

Identify the above expression as monomial, binomial or trinomial.

The obtained expression consists of one terms, so it is a monomial.

Therefore, the obtained expression for area of triangle is mn2 and it is a monomial.
