Two integers whose sum is zero are called additive inverses of each other. We are given that the difference of integer and its additive inverse is $2$
As, $1 - (- 1) = 1 + 1 = 2$ . So $- 1$ is $2$ less than $1$
Hence $- 1$ is the integer which is $2$ less than its additive inverse
