The mathematical form of Newton's second law of motion is

$F=\frac{\Delta P}{\Delta t}$

where $F$ = Net external force acting on the body
$\Delta P$ = Change in momentum
$\Delta t$ = Time

This can also be written as

$F=m\times a$

1. The speed of the object doesn't approach the speed of light.
2. The mass of the object must be constant
