Polyesters are generally made of repeating unit of a monomer called esters.
Polyester fibres are strong, resistant to stretching and shrinking. They dry quickly, are wrinkle resistant and can be easily washed. Because of all these properties polyester has wide uses-

• It is used in making fabrics for sarees, dresses and curtains.
• It is mixed with cotton for making shirts, trousers, dresses, etc.
• It is mixed with wool for making suits.
