In the given food chain, energy absorbed from the sun by producers (grass/ plants) is converted into biochemical energy. This energy is transported to the primary consumers (grasshopper) who feed on the grass. Secondary consumers (frog) feed on the primary consumers and pass on the energy to the tertiary consumers (snake). The apex consumers (eagles) are present at the top of the food chain. Decomposers (fungi, bacteria, etc.) breakdown dead and decaying organic matter to recycle the nutrients back to environment. Disruption of any trophic level can create an imbalance in the ecosystem.
