Solution

  • Plasma constitutes about 5% of the body weight. It represents a matrix of blood. It is slightly alkaline and transparent.
Protein constitutes about 7% part of plasma and remains in it as a colloid particle. These mainly include albumin globulin prothrombin and fibrinogen.
  • Globulins are mainly formed by plasma cells and lymphoid organ. Other plasma proteins are mainly formed in the liver. Albumins are mainly responsible for maintaining osmotic pressure in the plasma and for osmoregulation in cell and tissue fluid. Globulins help in osmoregulation and transport of proteins and other substances, but most globulins are immunoglobulins, which acts as antibodies, destroying harmful bacteria, virus, and toxin in blood and tissues.
