Hormones:
Hormones are the chemical messengers which are secreted to perform specific functions.
They are secreted by the ductless glands called the endocrine glands.
Pituitary gland:
The pituitary gland is a master gland that is known to secrete trophic hormones.
These hormones are responsible for the functioning, growth, and stimulation of the other endocrine glands.
This gland is divided into two parts:
Anterior pituitary which is responsible for the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormones (FSH), growth hormones (GH), prolactin, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH)
Posterior pituitary releases hormones such as oxytocin and antidiuretic hormone.
