(i) $\frac{- 8}{5}$
We know that,
The negative or additive inverse of rational number
$\frac{a}{b} is - \frac{a}{b}$ such that $\frac{a}{b} + (- \frac{a}{b}) = 0$

$∴ Negative of \frac{- 8}{5} = - (\frac{- 8}{5})$
$= \frac{8}{5}$ (1 mark)

(ii) $\frac{17}{12}$

Similarly

$∴ Negative of \frac{17}{12} = - (\frac{17}{12})$
$= \frac{- 17}{12}$ (1 mark)
