Write the products obtained when aqueous sodium chloride is electrolysed.

When an aqueous solution of sodium chloride is electrolysed chlorine, hydrogen and a solution of sodium hydroxide are formed. Chlorine gas forms at the positive electrode (anode) and hydrogen gas at the negative electrode (cathode).

NaCl + H2O Cl2 + H2 + NaOH
