Write the quadratic equations in standard form ax2 + bx + c = 0.
8 – 3x – 4x2 = 0

Open in App
Solution

Given: 8 – 3x – 4x2 = 0
On multiplying both sides by –1, we get:
–(8 – 3x – 4x2) = 0
=> –8 + 3x + 4x2 = 0
=> 4x2 + 3x – 8 = 0
Thus, the standardised form of the given quadratic equation is 4x2 + 3x – 8 = 0.
On comparing this equation with ax2 + bx + c = 0, we get:
a = 4, b = 3 and c = –8
