French Revolution marked the end of dictatorial rule of kings and establishment of socio-political system based on equality and democracy.

Reasons:
  • The French society had ordinary citizens who were deprived of privileges which were enjoyed by the upper two classes. Moreover, the taxation on the ordinary citizens were far more which caused huge resentment among them.
  • France being an agricultural economy suffered in low product yield which caused huge resentment among the common people.
  • King Louis XVI of France was an incompetent ruler and did not take care of his subjects.
  • The influence of American War of Independence and French thinkers gave the common people to act against the ill effects of the dictatorial regime.
