Question

Write the relation between Si and CGS unit of density .

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,
Answer to your question is given below:

Density is the mass per unit volume. In SI system, mass is measured in kilogram and length in meter whereas in CGS system mass is measured in gram and length in centimetres. Hence in SI unit system, density is calculated as kg/m3. And in CGS it is calculated as gram/cm3.
CGS unit of density is g/cm3.
Converting to SI unit
1g/cm3= (1 x 100 x 100 x 100) / 1000 kg/m3
1g/cm3 = 1000 kg/m3
