The distance covered or travelled by a body in unit time is called the speed of a body.
$Speed = \frac{Distance travelled}{Time taken}$
In the S.I. system, distance is measured in metre(𝑚) and time measured in second(𝑠).
So, the S.I. unit of speed is metre/second (m/s).
