Steps of construction:

Draw a line segment of length 16 cm and name it (say AB).

Place the 90⁰ vertex of set square at point A and draw a line segment of length 12 cm from A taking AB as the baseline. Mark the point at 12 cm as C.

Join points B and C to get the third side i.e. hypotenuse of the right angle triangle so formed.
