Write the sum of first n odd natural numbers.
We have,
1 + 3 + 5 + ... up to n terms
∴Sn=n2[2×1+(n−1)×2] [∵Sn=n2[2a+(n−1)d]]
=n2[2+2n−2]
=n2×2n
=n2
∴ 1 + 3 + 5 + ... up to n terms =n2
Hence, sum of first n odd natural numbers is n2.
