Write the uses of Hydrogen and Phosphorus.

Hydrogen is a colourless, odourless, and inflammable gas. Phosphorus is solid that exists in four different colours red, yellow, white, and black. These two are non-metals. Non-metals are those chemical elements that in reaction with metals (positively charged ions) gain electrons.

Uses of Hydrogen -

  1. Hydrogen is used to make oxy-hydrogen fuel which is used in cutting and welding metals.
  2. Hydrogen is considered one of the best fuels as it is clean and only emits water on reaction.
  3. Pure Hydrogen is used in the formation of Ammonia by Haber's process.

Uses of Phosphorus -

  1. The major use of Phosphorus is to manufacture fertilizers, detergents, and fine chinaware.
  2. Phosphorus is flammable in nature due to which it is used for making fireworks.
  3. Phosphorus in the form of Phosphorus sulphide is used to make sides of the safety matchbox.
