1.Providing public services: the government has the task to manage and provide the public with utilities and services like public roads, education, health services.

2.Regulation of market: the government has the task to regulate the market by imposing rules and regulations so that the market operated fairly without unfair trade practices.

3.Managing taxes: the government collects the taxes from the public and uses this money in public services.

4.Reducing inequality/ poverty: the government takes care that there is justice to all and nobody is treated unfairly. Poverty should be reduced for the benefit of the nation.
