Write three differences between Coal and Petroleum.

Coal is found at its site of deposition as a solid, petroleum is in liquid state. As petroleum is liquid it migrates readily from its place of origin into porous reservoir rocks, whereas coal is always found in its place of origin. Coal is carbon. Petroleum is hydrocarbons. Petroleum is expensive and is predominantly used in the transportation industry, coal is cheaper when compared to petroleum and is predominantly used in the energy industry.
