Solution

The correct option is B False
Placenta

● Placenta is a temporary tissue that connects the foetal and membrane tissues.
● The placenta is formed by finger-like processes from the chorion of the blastocyst that interlock with the crypts in the wall of the uterus

Nature of the human placenta

In humans the placenta is hemochorial and metadiscoidal

● Metadiscoidal- At the beginning, when the placenta is getting formed, the chorionic villi are found covering the entire surface of the blastocyst. Later they remain only on a disc-like area. This is called metadiscoidal placenta.
● Hemochorial- In humans the chorionic villi are directly in contact with maternal blood sinuses. Therefore, it is called hemochorial placenta.
