Question

wWHY DO OUR SHOES PRODUCE SOUND WHEN RUBBED ON A SMOOTH SURFACE?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Our shoes produce sound when rubbed on a smooth surface because of the very high friction between the surface and shoe sole, the molecule of the outer layer of the shoe sole (the layer that is in contact with surface) will vibrate. This vibration makes sound.
