It is given that y α z. y=kz k is a constant. ...(i)Also, x=a+y x=a+kz From (i)When x=30 and z=6:30=a+6k a=30-6k ...(ii)When x=24 and z=2:24=a+2k 24-2k=a ...(iii)From (ii) & (iii), we get:30-6k=24-2k30-24=-2k+6k6=4kk=32From (ii), we get:a=30-6×32 a=21Equation of variation: x=21+32z When z =10:x=21+32×10 x=21+15 x=36
