The correct option is C X and Y both are correct.
To protect children from early marriages, the Child Marriage Restraint Act was passed in 1929. It was not effective and did not lead to severe punishments. With increasing child marriage cases, the government formulated the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. This act had more strict laws which reduced the cases of child marriage.
